In India, E-tailing is expected to grow to $32 billion by 2020 and ethnic wear industry is set to grow by 8.4% i.e. USD 11.63 billion over the next decade as per a recent report by Technopak. These industry statistics clearly indicate that the need of skilled entry and mid-level professionals will be more than ever in these domains in the near future.
In sync with the evolving Indian market and its requirements, Pearl Academy, India’s leading design, fashion and creative business higher education institute, launched UG and PG courses in Fashion & Lifestyle E-Commerce (FLE) and Indian Couture (IC) at Amazon India Fashion Week (AIFW), Autumn Winter, 2015, at Pragati Maidan in New Delhi. The courses were launched by noted fashion designer and couturier Mr. JJ Vallaya; President of Fashion Design Council of India (FDCI) Mr. Sunil Sethi, and CEO of Pearl Academy Mr. Sharad Mehra.
Introducing the Indian Couture Course, ace fashion designer Mr. JJ Vallaya said, “India is the biggest market for Indian couture and a dedicated course on this was much required.
