Leveraging on Pearl Academy of Fashion’s global linkages, city’s design aspirants today got insights on international design trends at a student counseling and training workshop on the growth opportunities in luxury brands and fashion & lifestyle E- commerce industry.
Ms Orietta Pelizzari of Mattori Studio- an expert in fashion & design forecast and product development; and Course Leader at Italy’s leading design school- NABA (Nuova Accademia di Belle Arti Milano), guided students on opportunities across design industry, including fashion apparel, accessories design, textile forecasting, footwear and leather goods. She interacted with students on the evolution of global luxury industry, future of luxury in countries like India and the upcoming trends and prospects in fashion E- commerce.
The focus of the workshop was to give curriculum specific briefs to students with special emphasis on post-study placements and job opportunities across various segments in the fashion & design industry. Pearl Academy has recently announced the launch of 1 year professional courses in Fashion and Lifestyle E- commerce and Luxury Brands.
Ms. Orietta Pelizzari said “The new age consumer spends a considerable amount of his income on fashion, hospitality, food, designs, outing & cars. Companies across the globe are investing heavily in the luxury sector- Bags, shoes, jewels, watches, perfumes, cosmetics etc.”
She further added “With the advent of online shopping portals, customers have convenient access to products across various categories and brands. Another notable trend in luxury market is that the men’s market is out-performing women’s market across numerous categories. In conclusion, we can say the demand for luxury goods is huge and the market is growing at a rapid rate with emerging markets playing a fundamental role in the growth.”
