Pearl Academy, one of India’s leading design, fashion and business institutes, recently organised its twoday annual graduating event, Portfolio’14, at Pragati Maidan. Around 500 students from the graduating batches of the various undergraduate and postgraduate courses in Communication Design, Interior Architecture and Design, Textile Design, Fashion Styling and Image Design, Fashion Design and Retail and Fashion Business showcased their projects at the event, which was inaugurated by Ashok Vajpeyi, former chairman, Lalit Kala Academy , and Sharad Mehra, CEO, Pearl Academy.
An exhibition of innovative creations by the students of the design and business courses was followed by ramp shows by fashion design students. There were research presentations on the first day by the students from retail and business courses at Creative Business Colloquium. In dustry leaders Rahul Narvekar and Yogeshwar Sharma awarded the winners from the business department. The second day witnessed a ramp show by the students of fashion design departments.
Students from different design domains were awarded on the basis of innovation, practicality and execution in their projects by s Amardeep Behl, Olivia Dar, Arun Chandra Mohan and Snehane shu Mukherjee. The students of e the Fashion Design course were awarded by designers David Abraham, Rajesh Pratap Singh, Payal Pratap and Nikhil Mehra.
