A talent search inter school competition with 6 fun-filled activities to find the most creative students
In a quest to find the most creative school students in Delhi-NCR, India’s leading design, fashion and business institute Pearl Academy organized Creative Pearl 2014 – an inter-school competition to find the most creative students. Over 350 students from around 25 reputed schools from Delhi/NCR region participated in six different categories – Picasso Me-Redesign A T-Shirt, Quirky Comics, Style & Shoot, Home Sweet Home, Joy of Toy and Shoot on the Spot at Noida campus today.
The competition that began early in the morning was targeted to help students exhibit their creative abilities and explore diverse arenas in the process of shaping their careers. While engaged in these activities, the students displayed their ability to work as a team as well as an individual. The students were given 90 minutes for each activity during which they were required to complete projects individually and in groups.
Speaking about the event Ms. Nien Siao, Director, Pearl Academy, Noida, said, “The students who attended Creative Pearl 2014 were brimming with ideas which reflected in their creative output. With such kind of activities, the students get a platform to explore, test and evaluate their creative potential. Additionally, these activities give them an insight into the scope of design possibilities and the possible career stream that they could choose in the field of creativity. The event enabled us to guide the students on how they can become better professionals in future.”
‘Picasso Me – Redesign A T-Shirt’ was an intriguing activity which resulted in the creation of a myriad of innovative designs sprouted from the brilliant minds of the students. In ‘Quirky Comics’ activity, student had to write and illustrate a comic strip of one page with original characters. The wannabe fashionistas got a chance to style their partners and shoot them in the ‘Shoot & Style’ category. With action and elegance as the theme, participants in ‘Shoot on the Spot’ category had to capture the campus and students to display their photography skills. ‘Home Sweet Home’ competition gave the participants an opportunity to create an innovative home for any of their favourite possessions. Those who wanted to re-live the childhood days opted to participate in ‘Joy of Toy’ contest and designed toys in teams with 2 students in each team.
Students from schools such as Modern School, Bharakhamba Road; Delhi Public School, Ghaziabad; Delhi Public School, Vasant Kunj; Excelsior American School, Gurgaon; Khaitan Public School, Sahibabad; Army Public School, Dhaula Kuan; Bluebells International School, Kailash; DLF Public School, Ghaziabad; Ryan International School; ASN Sr. Sec. School, Mayur Vihar; Amity Global School, Noida; and Cambridge School, Noida, among others in Delhi/NCR region participated in Creative Pearl 2014. Their high spirits made the day worthwhile.
At the end of all the competitions, a plethora of design products were created along with some really interesting design work and photographs. The final submissions were screened by the in-house team of experts who selected the winners. Awardees were announced and awarded by the campus director where she encouraged them to follow their heart and design instincts.
