Cumulus, the only global association to serve art, design education and research, granted Full Membership to Pearl Academy in a recently held Conference at Aveiro, Portugal (7th May – 11th May, 2014). Cumulus is also recognized by UNESCO since 2011.
With this membership, Pearl Academy further strengthens its global presence and also offers one more reason to the aspiring students for joining Pearl. And, Pearlites who are currently studying with the Academy will be exposed to an international society of art and design including students and faculty across the globe.
A brief on Cumulus
Cumulus, the International Association of Universities and Colleges of Art, Design and Media (Founded in 1990) has now 216, members from over 60 countries the world over. It is in its 14th year and operates out of Helsinki, Finland.
Cumulus is engaged to enhance the quality of education through co-operation, student and teacher exchange. The University of Art and Design in Helsinki (UIAH), currently Aalto University School of Arts, Design and Architecture; and the Royal College of Art in London, in co-operation with Danmarks Designskole, Gerrit Rietvelt Academy, Universität Gesamthochschule Essen and Hochschule für Angewandte Kunst in Wien initiated Cumulus and were the initial members.
