Pearl Academy’s wave of Creative Careers reaches Delhi University

Hansraj College witnessed a compelling, informative and eye-opening round of the Creative Career Conclave, an initiative by Pearl Academy.

The big auditorium was aptly filled by the large gathering of more than 250 enthusiastic students. The creatively charged audience at the conclave was enthralled by the rich information and knowledge that the esteemed panellists shared with them on several creative careers. Students wanted to know more about ‘Careers of Tomorrow’ and with Pearl Academy introducing courses in niche segments such as Sports Business, Fashion  & Lifestyle eCommerce and Journalism & Mass communication, the conclave became all the more relevant.

Ms. Jyotsana Raghunathan, Associate Professor, Pearl Academy donned the anchor’s hat to initiate the event. The experts present during the conclave featured names like well-known fashion designer Rina Dhaka,         Principal Architect Manish Gulati (MOFA), ace photographer Rohit Dhingra and Dr. Bhavna Chaddha- Head Corporate Relations, Pearl Academy.

Rina Dhaka started the session with emphasis on various aspects of fashion designing and discussed hardships associated with the glamorous world of fashion. To a query on the scope of Fashion marketing in India, Rina said, ‘Marketing is a wonderful medium to communicate your thoughts among the masses if you have good communication skills you can become a good seller. Every Fashion designer or a Fashion house requires good marketing professionals to promote or sell their brand in the market.’

The second speaker Manish Gulati – Principle Architect, MOFA carried forward the discussion further and gave important insights into the world of architecture. “Architecture as a field leaves you free; it opens up a lot of dimensions to play with.” He talked about his journey which started from Retail, Exhibition and Events and finally finding his passion in architectural and interior design practice.

Talking about  his inspirations, Manish said, “When you observe the world around you; its hues, textures, psyches, people, diversity, landscape, all become a part of a collective consciousness.”

In his impressive portfolio, Manish has designed the launch of Virgin Atlantic in India, 25years of India Today, Delhi Daredevils (Delhi) office and various big profile government infrastructures. He ended by saying “Design and architecture go hand-in-hand and requires an innate passion for it to make a career out of them.”

Dr. Bhavna Chaddha, AVP Corporate Relations, Pearl Academy, threw some light on the recent news about Startup India that was launched last weekend. She talked about the Action Plan which includes some amazing incentives for startup entrepreneurs such as a massive Rs 10,000 crore fund. The government has also proposed to create a new category of business (“Innovative Startups”) with  guidelines that will make it  easier to start these businesses. Further, she added that Pearl Academy will soon launch its own incubation centres across all its campuses to promote the budding ideas in the innovation space.

The session with the industry experts was in line with Pearl Academy’s objective to guide and empower students with knowledge and perspective, which would further enable them to assess their future and be somebody tomorrow.

Creative Career Conclave hits Bhopal with an array of New-Age Careers and Immense Possibilities in the Design World

Pearl Academy Jaipur hosted their latest round of Creative Career Conclave (CCC) at Hotel Residency in Bhopal. An initiative of Pearl Academy, CCC is a platform to bring the representatives from creative industries face to face with the parents and students to sort the latters’ queries, doubts and fears regarding a career in the design domain. The conclave was attended by a well-regarded panel of creative minds from the world of design and fashion including Mr. Mumtaz Khan, Fashion Designer; Mr. Ashish Bhattacharya, Architect & Interior Designer and Founder- Designing Cell (Bhopal); and Mr. Ajit Bhandari, Fashion & Lifestyle Accessory Designer, Design Consultant and Academician, who guided more than 150 audiences.

Dr. Veena Dutta, Director, Pearl Academy-Jaipur campus, said, “Creative Career Conclave is an initiative that addresses parents and students’ curiosity and apprehensions on the options beyond the conventional careers. Basis each individual’s creative intelligence, the world of design has so many careers to offer the aspirants that would not only make the designers grow in India but also open a gateway for them to work with intellectuals at foreign shores. Through such conclaves, our larger agenda is to create a direction for students, looking at opting for careers that might not be seen as the most favorable ones due to the lack of information on the kind of future that they might have after pursuing a creative course in various fields of design, creative businesses and fashion.”

At the Conclave, each of the esteemed personalities addressed the students, giving insights into prolific ways to use their innovative bent of mind. The conclave was well received by all the participants who expressed their interest in future conclave and interactive platforms of similar nature.

Mr. Rajeesh Ravindran, Strategist & Research Expert; Ms. Shrishti Bajaj, Founder & Director, Designbait and Ms. Usha Iyer, Advertising professional and Design Educator, were the esteemed speakers at the conclave and addressed an audience of more than 150 students and parents.

17th October, Mumbai- Pearl Academy, India’s leading institute of design, fashion and business courses, hosted Creative Career Conclave (CCC) at Pearl Academy, Mumbai. The interactive session witnessed a creatively charged audience of more than 200 students and parents, who were enthralled by the abundance of information and knowledge that the esteemed panelists shared with them on multiple new age and creative careers.

 

The conclave consisted of an admired panel of ingenious minds from the world of fashion, art and design, Mr. Rahul Bose – Indian film actor, director, screenwriter, social activist, and rugby player, Prof. Vikas Satwelkar – an erstwhile faculty and executive director at National Institute of Design (NID), Ahmedabad, and Prof. Tapan Chakravarty – Head of Department, Interior Architecture & Design at Pearl Academy and Ann Priest – Pro Vice-Chancellor for Student Affairs and Head of College for Art, Design and Built Environment at Nottingham Trent University.

The interactions at conclave were an amalgamation of visions, insights, curiosity, guidance, aspirations, et al which made them more interesting and worth taking back home for the students as well as their guardians.
